The white continent had been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, reading the adventures of Shackleton as a kid and wondering what being at the end of the world would feel like. In March 2020 I got the opportunity to join my good friend and photographer Matt Horspool ( Etchd Photography) on a trip to Antarctica. I went there to capture and document the whole journey for an expedition company through film and although the trip ended up quite different than what we originally set out to, we had an amazing week down there.  I feel so lucky that I got to experience this so young and made my dream come true. I will never forget the stunning landscapes, the misty mountains and the impressive icebergs. Despite the whole ordeal surrounding our journey back from Antarctica I wanted to create a video showcasing only the breathtaking and pristine scenery we got to see as well as the incredible wildlife we encountered. This is the footage that I managed to capture in-between my main assignment. 2020 has been a very strange year but for me being able to visit such a place made it quite special. I hope to be back one day and set my eyes again on the white continent. Shot on the BMPCC 6K in Prores LT UHD. To see photos of the trip go to www.oftwolands.com | instagram.com/oftwolands
Exploring and photographing New Zealand in winter has always been a dream for us so we thought my 30th birthday was the perfect occasion for it. Earlier this year we decided to take a break for 2 weeks and go explore the islands of Hawaii. We usually travel during winter, or to mountainous locations so this was a change and we absolutely loved it. The landscapes are stunning, the food is amazing and the fact that you can go from a turquoise beach to a mountain top at 10,000 ft in 2 hours is just crazy. In 2 weeks we got to swim, hike, drive around the most beautiful roads and witness ever changing scenery. Hawaii is a place that we will keep revisiting, until then Aloha. In December 2016 we visited Japan, which had been on our minds for quite some time. Despite having a bit of an idea of what this country might be like, (hearing from friends and having seen photos and videos), nothing could have prepared us for it. We completely fell in love with Japan. Its peaceful and quiet feel, its polite and respectful people, its culture and amazing scenery. Having limited time, we decided to spend 4 days in Tokyo and Mt Fuji, and 4 days between Kyoto and Nara. We hope you’ll enjoy this video, and will get a glimpse of this beautiful country that will make you want to visit (or return). We ourselves cannot wait to go back !! A short video of our time in the Eternal City. We thought that it would be a busy and noisy city, but we were quite surprised at how peaceful it felt and it left us with beautiful memories such as walking through ancient ruins in the early morning, or watching the golden light fade over the terracotta rooftops. Rome far exceeded our expectations on many levels and truly stole our hearts. Last year in June, our travels took us to a very remote location north of the Arctic Circle : Greenland. We spent 4 days in Ilulissat, a town located on the western side whose name means 'Icebergs', and once we arrived it was easy to understand why the town was named after these white giants. Icebergs in the Disko Bay area are some of the biggest in the world, rising up to 100m above sea level (more than 300ft).
(The one that sank the Titanic is thought to have come from here.) Apart from its gigantic icebergs, the town is known for the Ilulissat icefjord, a UNESCO World heritage site.  Covering an area as large as 66,000 football fields, it is made by icebergs that calve from Sermeq Kujalleq, the fastest moving glacier in the world. Our time exploring this beautiful and unique part of the world was filled with amazing and unforgettable experiences.
From sailing under the midnight sun, hiking along the icefjord or whale spotting in the early morning, we feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to visit. Being so high up north there is no darkness in summer at all and the sun keeps circling around all day long.
The contrast of the blue sky, against the white icebergs as well as the temperature difference between the shore and the ocean made our filming experience very unique. Crossing the Arctic Circle was a childhood dream and we are glad that we had the chance to document this place, as we know in the back of our minds that the Arctic is a fast-changing and very fragile environment, and due to human impact (in the form of over-tourism, mining or any other human exploits); it more than likely won’t be there forever, or at least not as we saw it. Greenland's ice sheet covers 1.8 million km2 and contains 10% of the world's reserves of fresh water. Every year the ice is losing more mass than is being created.
If the entire ice sheet melted, the world's oceans would rise by 6 metres… Being there and actually flying over the icecap made us realise how important it really is to protect and care about this pure, fragile and beautiful place, and preserve it for future generations. When people think of Australia they think: white sandy beaches, hot sun, and turquoise water. Tasmania is the untamed, wilder and more rugged part of this country. In late September of this year we spent a few days in Tasmania working for James Boag alongside a bunch of really nice people, following chef James Viles whilst he harnessed and foraged for wild and raw ingredients from around the region This is a glimpse of our adventure, where we experienced the wild Tasmanian weather, warm camp fires with new friends, as well as some spectacular sunrises and sunsets. While on our way to Europe we decided to stop via Dubai and extend our 48 hour stopover by a few days. Dubai was always a place that we were curious about. We normally travel to cold or remote places so this was definitely a change but a pleasant one. We loved the architecture, the culture and the diversity of the people, the extreme heat, the arid sandy desert and the impressive (and somewhat confusing) road network! We will definitely visit again! This portrait of Dubai focusses more on the quieter moments amidst the hustle and bustle. Hope you enjoy it! In October 2015, we were given the opportunity to ‘Live like locals’ as part of the Lake Wanaka Influencer Program, in New Zealand. We left our Sydney home to spend 2 months documenting the area through photos and film. We took our Mavic 2 Pro to France this winter and decided to capture some of the scenic mountain roads that we drove on. It was around -5°C in the morning and the light was very intense but the drone held up pretty well. So sit back, relax and hopefully enjoy these few minutes of winter scenery. In April we were lucky enough to visit Turkey to work on a couple of documentaries. Whilst we did not have a lot of free time, we managed to spend a day in Istanbul and explore this beautiful and culture-rich city and tried to make the most out of it. This a short portrait made of scenes and places we saw during that day. Hope you enjoy. Thanks Panaroamic for showing us the best spots and guiding us through the unlimited alleys and narrow streets this place has to offer.
